The location in the city: student room and studio
You have not been admitted to a university residence or are looking for more independence?
The solution: Rent a student room or studio on your own.
Individual owners of small apartments (less than 50 m2) have a strong student clientele.
They offer furnished or unfurnished lodgings, sometimes even with an equipped kitchenette.
Rental turnover is generally between June and October. During this period, the supply is abundant and varied, except in Paris. However, as of mid-August, bargains are becoming more scarce.
In general, the quality / price ratio of these dwellings is extremely variable. You will have to visit several before finding the right one!
And calculate your budget well. You will have to pay in addition to the rent (heating, electricity, water, telephone, insurance housing) and the deposit to advance (from 1 to 3 months of rent) to pay upon signing the lease.
Some agencies "between individuals" will propose to you to access a file of offers of rentals with the payment of a lump sum. Be vigilant about list merchants!
Make sure the agency is serious and prefer a national network.
In most CROUS, a specific service is offered to you: classified ads of individuals proposed in exclusivity, without expenses of agency. Enjoy! The supply of private accommodation is common but the quality of the furniture is often poor.
